Built for municipalities,
utilities, and commercial facilities.
We work with municipalities, electric co-ops and utilities, and commercial landowners. Each partner has different goals. Our approach adapts to all of them.
Turn idle land into lasting community benefit.
Many New England and Mid-Atlantic towns own parcels that sit underutilized: former industrial sites, town-owned fields, utility easements, or land near a substation that never found a buyer. These sites often qualify for grid-scale energy storage development.
Tremont funds, builds, and operates the project at zero cost to the municipality. Your community receives a long-term ground lease payment, typically 15 to 30 years, gains a more reliable local grid, and demonstrates clean energy leadership without issuing debt or diverting budget.
We work with your town administrator, select board, and legal counsel throughout the process. We appear at public hearings, answer resident questions, and ensure the project fits your community's character and goals before any permits are filed.
Add long-duration storage without the capital burden.
Utilities and co-ops across the Northeast face the same challenge: growing peak demand, aging distribution infrastructure, and pressure to integrate more renewables. Long-duration storage solves all three, but requires capital and expertise that most utilities prefer not to build in-house.
Tremont provides a developer model. We bring the capital, the technology, and the development team. No capital outlay is required from your side. You get a contracted storage asset that reduces peak demand costs, defers transmission and distribution upgrades, and creates grid flexibility for absorbing wind and solar.
Our systems interconnect to your distribution network at the substation or feeder level with standard SCADA integration. We structure projects as build-own-operate agreements, power purchase agreements, or capacity contracts depending on your regulatory environment.
Protect your operations. Cut your energy costs.
Large energy users face two compounding problems: high demand charges on their utility bills, and growing exposure to grid outages that disrupt operations. On-site long-duration battery storage addresses both.
Tremont deploys systems at manufacturing plants, logistics and distribution centers, data facilities, and large commercial campuses. We size each system around your load profile and operations schedule, not a one-size-fits-all spec sheet.
For landowners with excess acreage, we also offer ground lease or land purchase arrangements where we develop a grid-connected project on a portion of your property. You earn lease revenue or receive a competitive purchase price, reduce your own grid exposure, and strengthen your sustainability reporting.
