What happens after
you reach out.
Every step from first conversation to long-term lease revenue, and what we ask of you at each one.
We handle the engineering, permitting, financing, construction, and long-term operations. You bring local knowledge and any questions about the project. We work through every step together, and neither side is bound until a ground lease or land purchase agreement is signed. Not sure what the system itself looks like? Learn about the technology.
Site Check
1–2 weeks Tremont leadsEnter your parcel address in our site assessment tool. We run a desktop suitability analysis covering parcel size, proximity to grid infrastructure, environmental constraints, and zoning. No cost, no commitment.
Your role: Submit a parcel address using our site tool.
Initial Conversation
1 meeting TogetherWe walk through the suitability results with you and answer questions. We explain what a project would look like on your specific site, what the financial terms typically look like, and what the full timeline involves. No pressure, no obligation.
Your role: Attend a 30–60 minute conversation with us.
Feasibility Study
2–6 weeks Tremont leadsIf the site shows strong potential, we conduct a detailed engineering and interconnection feasibility study at no cost to you. This covers grid capacity analysis, preliminary site layout, project sizing, and an initial permitting review. We share the full results with you.
Your role: Provide site access for a brief walkthrough, if needed.
Term Sheet
2–4 weeks TogetherWe present a non-binding term sheet outlining the proposed arrangement: project size, lease duration or purchase price, annual payment structure, and key conditions. Your legal counsel reviews. We answer every question until you are fully comfortable proceeding.
Your role: Review the term sheet with your legal counsel. There is no obligation to proceed.
Agreement Execution
4–8 weeks TogetherOnce both parties are ready, we move to a formal ground lease or land purchase agreement. Your counsel negotiates final terms with ours. This is the binding commitment: Tremont's obligation to develop the project and your agreement to provide site access. No permitting or construction begins before this is fully executed.
Your role: Have your counsel review and negotiate final terms, then execute the agreement. This is the one decision that is entirely yours.
Permitting
6–18 months Tremont leadsWe lead all permitting: local zoning approval, environmental review, state siting certification where required, and the interconnection application to the utility and ISO. We are present at public hearings, respond to agency comments, and manage all timelines. You are kept informed at every step and are not responsible for managing any of these processes.
Your role: Make introductions to local officials where helpful. We handle everything else.
Construction
4–8 months Tremont leadsOnce permits are issued and construction financing is closed, our team mobilizes. We manage all contractors, inspections, and utility commissioning. Revenue payments begin when the system reaches commercial operation and starts delivering power to the grid.
Your role: Nothing is required from you. Site access is governed by the executed agreement.
Long-Term Operations
15–30 years Tremont leadsWe operate and maintain the system for the full project term, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Revenue payments go to your community on schedule. If anything requires attention, we handle it. At end of life, we decommission and restore the site, all at our cost.
Your role: Nothing is required from you. You receive revenue payments for the life of the project.
From first conversation to a system delivering power to your grid. Permitting complexity is the primary variable.
We fund, permit, build, and operate. You take no financial risk.
Annual lease payments for the full life of the project.
